Stay and Play board game cafe closes its doors in West Palm Beach

Stay and Play Cafe is shutting its doors in West Palm Beach. The board game cafe opened in July 2019 in Northwood Village and featured more than 400 board games for folks to play with friends and family.

The owners of the cafe posted on Facebook that it was unfortunately time to say goodbye to their customers.

Well, I guess this is goodbye.A small business in their first year couldn't possibly survive the hand we've been…

“We have had an amazing time with you all and will be posting photos of our best memories to brighten your news feed. And yes, we have sold the games to another board game cafe opening in the area later this summer and we will post updates from them as soon as we get them,” they said in a Facebook post.

While many local businesses are struggling to stay afloat amid COVID-19 concerns, it seems Stay and Play Cafe already had plans to close before the pandemic started. The Cafe responded to a comment on Facebook saying that the business had already been sold and the owners were planning to close at the end of March 2020 anyway.
