Pumpkin spice fans can finally rush to Starbucks because the fall favorite returns earlier than ever.
Starbucks officially brings the popular Pumpkin Spice Latte back to the menu lineup across the U.S. and Canada starting Tuesday, Aug. 25.
This marks the drink’s earliest release ever. Last year, Starbucks’ menu launched on Aug. 27.
The Pumpkin Spice Latte, made with espresso, steamed milk and a blend of pumpkin and traditional fall spice flavors has gained a huge following over the years, with many fans trying to guess the launch date each year.
The coffee chain also brings back its Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew that first launched in 2019. The Pumpkin Cold Brew is an iced cold brew drink sweetened with vanilla, topped with a pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice.
Along with the return of Starbucks’ fall drinks, the company brings back fall bakery staples — the pumpkin scone and pumpkin cream cheese muffin. Other fall favorites like the Salted Caramel Mocha are back, too.

Dunkin’ also released its fall menu early this year and debuted its version of a pumpkin-flavored drink for the first time on Aug. 17.
“This is one of the most anticipated times of the year for Dunkin’ guests, and we’re excited to make pumpkin favorites available at Dunkin’ restaurants earlier than ever,” Jill Nelson, Vice President, Marketing Strategy at Dunkin’, said in a statement.
Maybe these coffee chains hope to sweeten a chaotic 2020 with the release of beloved drinks earlier than ever.
For nearly two decades, the Pumpkin Spice Latte has been a popular item on Starbucks’ menu and a pop-culture icon.
