Rapids Waterpark opens for 2023 season this March; new slide MEGA MAYHEM to debut later this year

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (SOUTH FLORIDA WEEKEND) - It’s time to ride the Rapids! Rapids Waterpark opens for the 2023 season on Saturday, March 11th.

South Florida’s “most thrilling water park” will open March 11th and 12th and then go to daily Spring Break hours from March 17 to April 16th. Rapids will be open Thursdays through Sundays from April 20th to May 10th before going to daily summer hours (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) on May 11th.

In addition to classic favorites like the lazy river, wave pool, FlowRider surf simulator, and 40 slides/attractions - you’ll notice a new attraction around the 35-acre water park this summer. Last year, Rapids retired its first original attraction, Old Yellar, in order to make room for it’s biggest slide to date -- MEGA MAYHEM. The new slide will make its debut later in 2023 and will be the first dueling water coast ride on the state of Florida. It will be 54 feet tall and race 837 feet long per lane.

More about MEGA MAYHEM:

  • two side-by-side flumes where riders speed down twists and high-banked turns as they are propelled uphill by a unique blast jet propulsion technology
  • riders can see other racers speeding down the slide through open low-separator walls at max speed of up to 22 mph
  • riders will compete to reach the finishing plunge first while experiencing drop and dive sensations along the way

Rapids Waterpark’s Gold Season Pass, South Florida’s best entertainment value,  is now on sale for $109.95 plus tax and provides unlimited visits during the 2023 season through November 26th. This is $20 off the regular price of $129.95.
