‘Protect What You Love’ by recycling right this February

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (SOUTH FLORIDA WEEKEND) - Living in Palm Beach County definitely feels a lot like living in paradise! There’s so much to do outdoors like paddle boarding, swimming, boating, etc.

Let’s work together to keep our community clean and protect what we love. Recycle Right so we can continue to enjoy our beautiful natural resources!

If you’re in Palm Beach County..

  • Put your aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic containers in the blue bins.
  • Break down your clean cardboard boxes and put them in the yellow bins, along with magazines and newspapers.
  • Bring your cooking oil, old paint, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, automotive fluids, and more to any of the seven Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County Home Chemical and Recycling Centers. You can find a location near you here.

If you want to go above and beyond to protect what you love, join a local clean-up program!

Join the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s Adopt-A-Spot Program. It provides local groups the tools and supplies to “adopt” and improve the appearance of areas in their community.

Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful is a nonprofit organization. You can volunteer to participate in their cleanup efforts to reduce litter and encourage more community greening.

A few other local cleanup groups include Beach Keepers, Inc., Friends of Palm Beach, Litter Hikers of America, Pleasant Ridge Community, Friends of Jupiter Beach, and Trashy Mermaids.
