How to properly dispose of your tree and wrapping paper in Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (SOUTH FLORIDA WEEKEND) - Great news if you have a live Christmas tree this year! According to the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, you can place your tree at the curb on your regular yard waste collection day if it’s up to 8 feet long and doesn’t weigh more than 50 pounds.

If your tree is longer than 8 feet, you need to cut it in half. Don’t forget to remove all of your decorations!

Wrapping paper can be recycled in Palm Beach County if it’s 100% paper. You can place those items in the yellow bin. Ribbons, foil-type paper, and anything with glitter needs to go in the regular trash as it can mess up the recycling process.

Happy holidays!
