Shark Wake Park is a cable kneeboarding and wakeboarding park in West Palm Beach that also offers a massive floating obstacle course and a snack shack with food and beverages.
When Greg Norman opened Shake Wake Park two years ago, he knew he wanted to make it a special place for friends and families who wanted to spend a fun day on the water.
“If you come to Shark Wake Park, you’ll probably be intimidated right off the bat,” said Norman, the founder and CEO. “It’s a new sport, you’re learning something new. But that’s what we cater to, we want to make sure everyone’s safe, comfortable and having a good time here.”
Shark Wake Park is the perfect place for people learn how to kneeboard and wakeboard on a cable system. You don’t have to be a professional! All skill levels are welcome at Shark Wake Park and you’ll get lessons right on the dock. If the watersports aren’t for you, Norman said to give the obstacle island a go. You have to wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket and lifeguards are on duty to make sure everyone stays safe.
When you’re ready for a break or if you’re just spectating, check out the Shark Shake. They serve beer, wine, coffee from Pumphouse Coffee Roasters, and delicious eats.
In regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Norman said they’ve taken measures at Shark Wake Park to keep customers healthy and safe.
If you go into the pro shop, you have to wear a facial covering and there are signs up around the park to remind folks to social distance.
“On the dock, all our operators are dunking handles into buckets to clean the handles before handing to a new customer,” he said. “And on the obstacle island, it’s all washed down and cleaned down to make sure it’s safe and clean. In our concession stand, no one is allowed to sit around the bar or interact around that area. They’ll take your items and then go out into the park.”
