Immerse yourself in culture at the Downtown Hollywood ArtWalk

The Downtown Hollywood ArtWalk is the perfect time for you to check out the murals, learn about the artists, and hear about their vision for each piece of work!

It’s time to stop texting, and start driving! We’ve partnered with Steinger, Green & Feiner to encourage you to put the phone down, focus on the road ahead, and drive somewhere amazing in South Florida. This month, we’re checking out the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project in Hollywood, Florida!

“Downtown Hollywood is an authentic historic downtown in South Florida,” said Lisa Liotta with the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency. “There aren’t a lot of them and we’re very proud of that fact and we’re able to capitalize off our authenticity and what we have been doing the last few years is taking it to a new level with art and culture.”

If you haven’t been to Hollywood lately, now is the time. The downtown businesses are covered with large, vibrant works of art from local, national, and internationally renowned artists.

The Downtown Hollywood Mural Project launched in 2012 and it continues to grow. There are now 26 murals that you can check out yourself — or with a tour guide at the monthly Downtown Hollywood ArtWalk.

“We have our gallery tour, we have our mural tour, we have outdoor performances, we have an artisan market component, and we also have live entertainment, musical entertainment on a main stage,” said Liotta. “All of this happens in the built-in environment in downtown Hollywood so we have the streets closed and a lot of activity taking place.”

The Downtown Hollywood Art Walk is the third Saturday of every month.  The mural tour starts at 6:00 p.m. and the gallery tour starts at 7:00 p.m.
You don’t have to register, you just have to show up!

Downtown Hollywood offers on-street metered parking for $1.50 per hour, as well as municipal garage parking for $1 per hour. Municipal garage locations are: 251 S. 20th Avenue (between Harrison Street and Van Buren Street) and 251 N. 19th Avenue Municipal Garage (between Tyler Street & Polk Street).
